About the Publisher

Karen Wolfe was born in Orillia, Ontario and has lived her life in Pefferlaw, Ontario. She started grade one in a one room school house called Black River School that was once located on Highway #48 at Riverview Beach Road. Also an alumni of Morning Glory Public School and Sutton District High School, Karen received her formal training as a journalist at Durham College in Oshawa where she was also a Professor for the Journalism program for five years.

She began her career in Journalism working for a trade magazine as editor and worked her way up to Publisher/Executive Editor before the publication was sold in 1989. For the next 15 years, she held the title of Director of Communications for a leading trade association where she published various publications and periodicals.

Today, Karen marries her training and expertise in publishing and her passion for her community together to bring you the Pefferlaw Post, a delightful little newspaper designed to report on the happenings in and around her community. And her passion for Lake Simcoe was the motivation for her new publication, Lake Simcoe Fishing and Recreation News.

Karen is married, has two grown children and continues to enjoy life as a resident of Pefferlaw.
